It’s especially popular among the Asian community, with T-Series, India’s biggest music label and movie studio, being the top YouTube channel when looking at subscriber count. 

Though, for the sake of this article, we try to focus on Asian individuals who have made a name for themselves on YouTube. From gamers to actors, most of these YouTubers have already gained more than a million subscribers. 



1. CarryMinati

With over 42.7 million subscribers on YouTube, CarryMinati (known as Ajey Nagar in real life) is an Indian comedian, rapper, and gamer. His success on YouTube has been recognized by Time magazine and Forbes. In 2019, Time magazine included him in its Next Generation Leaders list. Then, in 2020, he was included in the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia list. 

He mostly shares satirical parodies, comedy, and live gaming. Though, his success has not come without controversy. In 2020, one of his videos, YouTube Vs TikTok, was removed by the platform in reaction to claims of cyberbullying and harassment. 


2. Atta Halilintar

Atta Halilintar (aka Muhammad Attamimi Halilintar) is a YouTuber, content creator, actor, singer, and businessman who hails from Indonesia. Since he joined the channel at the beginning of 2014, he has uploaded more than 1,300 videos and managed to grow his subscriber count to 31.5 million subscribers. In addition to his YouTube content, he also starred in two horror movies: 13: The Haunted and The Return of the Devil Child.


3. Ricis Official

Ria Yunita (aka Ria Ricis) is a female YouTuber from Indonesia. Before she started her Ricis Official YouTube channel in 2016 which currently has 46.7 million subscribers, she already had millions of followers on Instagram. According to NoxInfluencer, her estimated potential earnings per video is $6.5K. 


4. Jess No Limit

Jess No Limit (aka Tobias Justin) is an Indonesian gamer. While he is relatively new to YouTube (he joined only in 2017), he already has 50.6 million subscribers and has uploaded over 2,900 videos. 


5. Nigahiga

Nigahiga (aka Ryan Higa) is a college dropout turned award-winning Asian-American influencer, musician, and actor. He first joined YouTube in 2006 and, at the time of writing this article, has only one YouTube channel with over 20.9 million subscribers. Here he shares mostly comedy videos. 

In addition to YouTube, he has also starred in two movies (Tell Me How I Die and Finding ‘Ohana), written a memoir, and created a K-pop band. All his achievements (many of which we haven’t even covered) landed him a spot on Forbes 30 Under 30 list in 2017. 


6. Frost Diamond

Frost Diamond (aka Kananda Widyantara) is a YouTuber from Indonesia who concentrates mostly on gaming, particularly Minecraft. To date, he has uploaded more than 3,400 videos and has close to 40 million subscribers. In 2018, he also started another YouTube channel under his own name which has nearly 5 million subscribers. 

While he is one of the most successful YouTubers from Asia, it has not come without controversy. In 2018, his channel was suspended as he was caught using another channel’s thumbnail. Then, in 2021, he was accused of plagiarism for making a video with the same concept and similar thumbnails. 


7. Kaykai Salaider

Kaykai Salaider (aka Nutticha Namwong) is a female YouTuber from Thailand. In 2019, only three years after she started, she became the first Thai YouTuber to get over 10 million followers. Since this huge achievement, her YouTube channel has continued to grow and, at the time of writing this article, she has just over 17 million subscribers. To date, she has posted over 436 videos, with her most popular video getting a whopping 47 million views. 

In an interview with the Bangkok Post, she commented that as consumers tend to concentrate more on self-learning, education, and psychology, her content would also go in that direction. In addition to her YouTube success, she has also launched her own skincare brand. 


8. zbing z.

Boasting 19.2 million subscribers, zbing z. is the YouTube channel of Naiyarat Thanawaigoses (aka Pang). She is best known for live-streaming video games, but also started to make her own videos in 2014. Every day, she spends a couple of hours casting games and includes running commentary in both female and male voices.

In an interview with the Bangkok Post, she shared that, for her, foul language, violence, smoking, and drinking are not suitable during casting. On average, her videos get just over 1 million views per month. 


9. Bie The Ska

Bie The Ska (aka Krit Boonyarung) is a YouTuber and entertainer from Thailand. He is mostly known for his parody videos. He made his first parody during an exam to help stressed students relax a bit. His fellow students loved his parody and as a result Bie The Ska was born.

He is one of the oldest Asian YouTubers in our list, having joined YouTube in 2006. Since then, he has uploaded close to 1,800 videos, with his most popular video boasting more than 100 million views. At the time of writing this article, his channel has 14.5 million subscribers. 


10. Domics

The man behind the YouTube Domics channel, Dominic Panganiban, was born in the Philippines. On his channel, he usually uploads animations about specific experiences in his life. 

He is also an animator and cartoonist. Before he started his YouTube channel in 2012, he started a web comic that he shared on Tumblr.

At the time of writing this article, his YouTube channel has almost 7.27 million subscribers. His most popular video to date is Crushes which has been viewed more than 30 million times.  


11. Yuka Kinoshita

Yuka Kinoshita is a YouTuber and competitive eater who hails from Japan. Her videos are mostly “mukbang” which loosely translates to “an eating broadcast”. In short, it is a video in which the viewers watch a YouTuber consume high-calorie meals/various different types of food in one sitting. As her videos include English subtitles, she managed to attract the attention of English-speaking viewers as well. Since Yuka joined YouTube 2014, she has already uploaded more than 2,500 videos and attracted 5.26 million subscribers. 


12. Kwili

Kwili (aka Mohammad Almutairi) is a blogger and YouTube creator from Kuwait. He first joined the platform in 2012 and while he has only uploaded 248 videos to date, he already has nearly 6.43 million subscribers.  


13. Alieff Irfan

Alieff is a YouTube creator from Malaysia. According to Net Worth Spot, he has an estimated net worth of about $5 million. Though, keeping in mind his extra sources of income, some suggest that it is closer to $7 million. His YouTube description describes himself as an ordinary Malaysian YouTuber, but seeing that he already has 5.68 million subscribers, he is far from just an ordinary YouTuber. From mashup songs to drama parodies to pranks, his channel has close to 1,200 videos.  


14. bubzbeauty

Lindy Tsang (aka bubzbeauty) is a Chinese-Irish beauty and mom vlogger. She uploaded her first video to YouTube in 2007 and has since grown her subscriber list to just over 2.7 million. Her content includes hair and make-up tutorials and she also shares things about her personal journey. 

While bubzbeauty is her main channel, she also has two other YouTube channels: bubzvlog and bubbiosity. Bubzvlog has almost 1 million subscribers, while bubbiosity has just over 300,000.  

Though, her success has not been without controversy. In 2019, fans lashed out at her for letting her son play with a phallic-shaped soap in one of her videos. On a more positive side note, she has also used her success to raise money which went towards building schools.


15. Joeman

Joeman is a gaming and lifestyle YouTuber from Taiwan. Since he joined the platform in 2010, he has uploaded more than 2,900 videos which have received over 2.31 million views in total. On average, he creates more than 30 new videos per month. To date, his YouTube channel has just over 2.58 million subscribers. 


16. Ridhwan Azman

Ridhwan’s YouTube career started in 2013 after he played a recurring role in the Ah Boys to Men series, a Singaporean satirical comedy series directed by Jack Neo. His videos are mostly comedic skits and include a few musical parodies. For example, his most popular video, Stuck In A Bathtub With 4 Hot Girls, got close to 18 million views. Currently, the Singaporean YouTuber’s channel has 691,000 subscribers.  


17. Baim Paula

Baim Paula is a YouTube channel that was created by Baim Wong (aka Muhammad Ibrahim) and his wife, Paula Verhoeven, an Indonesian supermodel. Baim is no stranger to the camera having played many roles in soap operas before starting their YouTube channel in 2018. 

To date, their channel has nearly 21.3 million subscribers. In total, they have posted more than 2,400 videos, with their most popular video boasting 19 million views. 


18. Wong Fu Productions

Wong Fu Productions is a filmmaking group that was created by Wesley Chan, Ted Fu, and Philip Wang. On their YouTube channel, the Asian-American trio likes to share anything from thoughtful to humorous to sad stories. At the time of writing this article, their YouTube channel has more than 3.21 million subscribers.
